How liposuction works

At Conturkliniken®, liposuction is performed using a combination of local and general anaesthesia and takes between 1-3 hours. By making thin incisions in the skin, a saline solution is injected to burst the fat cells and a cannula is inserted to extract the fat. Depending on the extent of the procedure, you may need to stay overnight. You often need to consider limiting your physical activity for the first few days.

After liposuction, compression garments are often worn around the clock for the first week, then another 4 weeks during the day.
