How does breast surgery work?
At Conturkliniken®, we offer a variety of procedures and variations of breast surgery, each with a different approach. There are some commonalities in the procedure - what happens after the surgery, for example.
- You get stitches that disappear on their own, and also tape to keep them in place until the next visit.
- Showering is fine, but not bathing for the first two weeks.
- The area becomes swollen and you bruise around the wound.
How breast surgery works
Magnification
Through a short incision under the breast or in the armpit, a pocket is created into which an enlarging implant can be inserted. The size that best suits you will be determined together when you visit us. Read more about how a breast augmentation is done.
Magnification and lifting
It is common to want a lift in combination with an augmentation. The initial stage of the operation is the same as a breast augmentation, but a slightly longer incision is made in the chest wall and upwards. It looks like a horizontal "T" up towards the areola, known as an anchor scar. An incision is also made around the areola. Its incision allows the tissue and skin to be tightened and fixed at a suitable height.

Reduction
The incision is made in the same way as for a breast lift, but in addition there is also a reduction of the breast tissue. During this procedure you will experience a lifting effect.
