Is botox permanent - how long does botox last?
Botox is not permanent and the effects of a treatment gradually disappear over time. The results of a Botox treatment usually last about 3-4 months, but sometimes up to 12 months. It always varies from person to person how long the effect of Botox lasts.

Does Botox stay in the body?
Botox (botulinum toxin) itself stays under the skin for about 24 hours and then disappears. Botox has a muscle-relaxing effect, breaks down quickly in the body, and is therefore not permanent. However, the effect is more long-lasting. Usually the effect lasts 3-4 months but sometimes up to a year.
Botox is also not something that spreads in the body and affects parts other than the areas injected. You can read more about it here.
How often do I need Botox treatment as it is not permanent?
How often you choose to have a botox treatment is of course up to you as a customer. Since a botox treatment does not provide a permanent result, you need to repeat the treatment if you want to maintain the effect. How often treatment needs to be done is individual and also a personal choice. However, you should not do botox treatment more often than every three months. Over time, treatments usually need to be done less often and the time between treatments tends to get longer and longer.
Here you can read more about what you need to consider after a treatment.
Why can't I do botox treatments too often?
If Botox treatments are done too often, there is a risk of developing immunity to the drug. This means that it can eventually be difficult to get the correct effect from botox. The duration of botox varies, but usually 3-4 months, which means that it does not need to be injected more often than that.
