Why not exercise after fillers?
Are you thinking of making a filler treatment and wondering what to do afterwards? Many people know that you should avoid exercise after fillers, but not why. The reason is that it can lead to swelling, so you should avoid exercising 2-3 days after an injection.
Things to consider before fillers
Before the treatment, you should consider that:
- Avoid blood thinners, which can increase the risk of bruising.
- Avoid non-prescription painkillers containing ibuprofen or diclofenac.
- Avoid alcohol and omega-3 supplementation
- It is particularly important to arrive on time if you want an anaesthetic cream - it takes up to 20 minutes to work.
The treatment is not painful but some may experience discomfort. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, we recommend refraining from filler treatments. If you have sores such as herpes on the area, we recommend that you wait until these have disappeared.

Things to consider after filler treatment
In addition to not exercising immediately after fillers, there are a number of other things you may not have considered.
- Do not use make-up or skincare products on the treated area for the first 24 hours after treatment. Due to the needle puncture, there is an increased risk of infection.
- For the first three days, you should avoid alcohol.
- Do not expose your skin to direct sunlight for the first two weeks.
- Postpone dental appointments for a few weeks
It is fine to do skincare treatments before the injection treatment, but avoid doing so immediately afterwards.
