1. Consultation and planning for eyelid surgery

When you come to us for the first time, you will meet a doctor and/or nurse to be able to ask all questions, air any concerns and adjust your expectations. The most important thing for us is that you feel safe and have full confidence in us. During the consultation, you will also see pictures of the results of similar procedures that have been done here at Conturkliniken® in Stockholm. Before some of our treatments, we can also show computer-simulated illustrations of the supposed treatment result.

If you decide on a (treatment) operation, we plan it together and at the same time put together a plan for how and in what order your signs of aging should be treated and how the result should be maintained. Everything to make you as satisfied as possible.

2. Preparations for eyelid surgery

You will receive specific instructions on how to prepare for an eyelid surgery – what to eat and drink, smoking rules, use of vitamins, medicines and other preparations. The day before the operation, we have telephone contact for a final review of what will happen on the day of the operation.

3. The procedure itself

An eyelid surgery normally takes about 1–2 hours and is performed under anesthesia and local anesthesia. The laser technology causes less bruising, swelling and pain than with traditional eyelid surgery with a scalpel. For upper eyelid surgery, you will have stitches to be removed after 6–8 days. In lower eyelid surgery, the incisions are made from the inside of the eyelid. These do not need stitches and heal within 5–7 days. In some cases, an incision can be made on the outside under the French edge. This incision is sewn with stitches inside the skin and is removed after 6–8 days. You get a tape over the suture ends.

4. The time after an eyelid surgery

In upper eyelid surgery, the incision is sewn with stitches that will be visible in both the inner and outer corner of the eye. You must keep the incision on the eyelid clean by washing with a topz with water daily. Follow-up takes place at the clinic after 4-6 months after the operation, when pictures are taken that are compared with pictures before the operation to see the final result.

Of course you can contact us anytime if you have any questions or concerns.
