Why do you get rosacea?
Why some people get Rosacea is not yet known, but it is not contagious. Some people find that it is made worse by sun, heat, cold, wind, strong spices, hot drinks, alcohol, stress or chemicals on the skin.
Rosacea is most common in adults with diffuse redness and superficial blood vessels. Pimples and blisters may also occur. Rosacea can 'come and go', with periods of discomfort and periods without discomfort. Sometimes eye problems occur in connection with rosacea. It is then particularly important to treat rosacea as the problems can cause visual impairment.
How do we treat rosacea?
At Conturkliniken®, we attach great importance to a thorough individual assessment during your first consultation. In the case of Rosacea, the triggers or exacerbations of the symptoms vary greatly, and the plan for the treatment of Rosacea should therefore be designed with these individual tendencies in mind.
However, all Rosacea sufferers experience a marked improvement with an individually tailored medical skincare programme such as ZO Skin Health. Sometimes prescription drugs such as antibiotics are used.
The treatment usually takes place over a longer period. Combining this treatment for rosacean with laser treatment to remove superficial blood vessels or redness that the medicines do not help, is very effective and the 'traces' of rosacean can be erased.
You have regular return visits to the clinic, to follow up that we are achieving the expected results. Avoid cortisone creams as they can aggravate rosacea.

More than one treatment is often required and can be done every 4 weeks. The treatment does not require any preparation or convalescence but there may be a slight sensation of heat and swelling that lasts for a day.
In order to prevent the appearance of new visible vessels or other symptoms of Rosacea, it is important to include a medical skin care programme in the treatment that is monitored at regular intervals.
