How long should I wear a support bra after breast augmentation?
All people react differently to operations and procedures. This means that recovery time varies. After a breast augmentation, you need to wear a special bra - a post-op bra. It is designed to provide extra support without chafing while protecting the area. During the first four weeks, the support bra needs to be worn around the clock. After that, it should be worn during the daytime for another four weeks - but then you can sleep without it.
After breast augmentation
In addition to wearing a support bra after breast augmentation, there are some other aspects to consider after the surgery. You may need extra support for your body in bed, so it's good to stock up on plenty of pillows to place under your back and knees. You will want comfortable clothes that are easy to put on and take off, so make sure you have these on hand.
- You won't be able to shower for a few days.
- It can be difficult to lift your arms above your head - make sure that household items and clothes are closer at hand.
- After the operation, you will need to take painkillers and antibiotics.
- Your breasts may feel bigger than you imagined! But you don't have to worry, it's just the swelling that will subside.
- Avoid alcohol, smoking and non-prescription medicines in the first few days.
