What is IPL?

IPL or laser?
Many people think that IPL and laser are the same thing, but this is not really true, there are purely technical differences. The significant thing about laser is that it uses light of one wavelength – a single colour – and IPL uses multiple wavelengths. The light source in IPL is a flash lamp, like on a camera, and like the flash's light in different wavelengths.

The dye in the haemoglobin of the blood allows the IPL light wavelength to be absorbed and heats the vessel and its walls, leading to shrinkage of the vessel.
